Whether you’re getting in a few laps of the pool before work or getting stuck into a Sunday game of basketball, the Oakleigh Recreation Centre has been an integral part of the local community since the 1950s.
Catering to all ages and abilities, the multi-purpose facility provides locals with a fun and social setting to get active and serves as an informal meeting place for families and friends.
Currently owned and operated by City of Monash, the Oakleigh Recreation Centre underwent major renovations of its aquatic facilities in 2008 and features one of the few outdoor diving towers in Melbourne open to the public.
Open seasonally from November to March, the outdoor aquatic area is a popular spot to beat the heat during the warmer months and features a salt water 50m lap pool plus heated multi-purpose and children’s pools.
In addition to the aquatic facilities, the centre also houses a fully equipped gym and health club, four-court indoor sports stadium and an onsite cafe and crèche.
Offering a wide range of social and organised sporting activities, the recreation centre has something for every age and fitness level including basketball, netball, futsal and volleyball competitions, CrossFit and group exercise classes.
A host of professional and qualified staff deliver a number of health and wellbeing programs such as swimming lessons, personal training, aqua aerobics, massage and personal training.
With single, multi-session and seasonal passes available, the Oakleigh Recreation Centre allows both frequent and casual visitors the opportunity to take charge of their health and wellbeing.
The Oakleigh Recreation Centre is located in Park Rd, Oakleigh. It is open Monday to Friday 6am-9pm, Weekends 8am-6pm and Public Holidays 9am-6pm (Closed Good Friday and Christmas Day).
