Those looking to beat the heat this summer should head to the outdoor pool at Oakleigh Recreation Centre.
Situated in Park Rd, the centre features a heated 50m pool, which has eight lanes and is ideal for lap swimming. It operates from November to March.
The centre also has a diving pool with seven springboards including 1m and 3m springboards, and 1m, 3m and 5m platforms.
When the diving platform is open, children have to do a test jump and swim to the side under lifeguard supervision just to see if they are worthy.
The outdoor pool is known to frequently retro-fit the diving tower with a giant inflatable slide, bringing an extra attraction to the space.

The multi-purpose outdoor pool is heated to 31 degrees and caters for rehabilitation, the ORC Learn to Swim program and family leisure. The outdoor pool is the perfect place for a relaxing swim and is supervised by qualified lifeguards at all times.
A favourite among toddlers and children is the splash pool area which includes a beach entry, waterfall, water play fountain, bubble lay area and water jets. The splash pad is open to children under the age of 10 and they must be supervised by a parent/guardian 16 years or over.
With a shaded grass area, terrace seating and a poolside café, the outdoor pool at Oakleigh Recreation Centre is a great place to cool off this summer.
